The Watt in Watt A Good Dog
Hi. I'm Amber Watt, 25, and I've been in Toronto for about five minutes. Before that I was in Vancouver for a bit, and before that, Australia, which is where I grew up and where that photo was taken (that's Sydney behind me, for anyone about to ask if all of Australia looks like that. It does not).
Scottish family on both sides, so I come from people who go outside regardless of what the sky is doing. That's most of the qualification for this job. The rest is that every house I've lived in has had a dog in it. The first was Haggis, a border collie who was already grey when I was born and who I'm told I learned to walk by hanging onto. The most recent is Pip, a kelpie cross, who is currently living her best life with my old housemates back home because a hostel dorm is no place for a kelpie. Leaving her was the hardest part of all this.
I'm staying in Kensington Market while I find my feet, which puts me within a short walk of most of the streets we cover. Weekday mornings and afternoons are mine; Taylor takes the ones I can't.
Favourite kind of dog: whichever one is in front of me. Least favourite: still looking.
